Large cleanup action successfully completed in Ilidža, citizens joined

(Patria) - A large action to clean and arrange public areas, which began on Monday in the municipality of Ilidža, was successfully completed today.

The joint action, led by the Ministry of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction, and Environmental Protection, involved the Municipality of Ilidža, KJKP Park, KJKP Rad, KJKP Vodovod i kanalizacija, KJU for Protected Natural Areas Sarajevo, KJKP GRAS, JP Ilidža, the Ilidža Fire Department, and KJKP Pokop.

The Mayor of Ilidža Municipality, Nermin Muzur, expressed satisfaction with the extensive action, which covered all 16 local communities of the municipality.

- This is one of the largest post-war actions that has taken place in the area of the municipality of Ilidža. I want to thank the relevant ministry, led by Minister Enver Hadžiahmetović, all the cantonal public enterprises that participated in this action, as well as our Public Enterprise Ilidža. What particularly pleases me is that a large number of citizens responded to this action - said Muzur.

The Mayor of Ilidža Municipality emphasized the importance of the synergy created between cantonal enterprises, i.e., the Government of Sarajevo Canton, the ministry, which is the leader and organizer of this major action, and the local community and its residents.

- In addition to the regular maintenance that we carry out through JP Ilidža and some cantonal enterprises, such actions will certainly yield good results. What remains for us is to try to develop awareness among citizens through discussions regarding the maintenance of communal hygiene and public areas, especially given that Ilidža is full of green oases and a significant part of the territory is located in the water protection zone - said the Mayor of Ilidža Municipality.

Muzur stressed that two such actions annually would result in the municipality of Ilidža looking much better, and that the effects of the action are clearly visible on the ground.

- For the first time, areas and locations that have never been cleaned since the end of the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina have been cleaned. It is possible that during the extensive action, some part in a local community was overlooked; we are available through our Public Enterprise, and we will complete those parts in the coming days - Muzur stated.

Enver Hadžiahmetović, the Minister of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction, and Environmental Protection, was also satisfied with the effectiveness and results of the action.

- This is a new model that we have adopted for the first time, where all services from the municipal and cantonal levels, along with citizens, organize such a large action. This is the first time we have managed to collect and remove over 150 tons of various types of waste, bulky and mixed. I believe this is the right way for citizens and the local community to be satisfied, and of course, for us in the KS Government as well, because it is in all our interests to have a clean city - said Minister Enver Hadžiahmetović, and emphasized:

- Ilidža is specific because it has a large area and is a tourist destination. Due to the questionable capacity of the enterprises that maintain Ilidža, we decided on a joint action. Furthermore, this is also a message to the citizens that we must all take care of environmental protection and cleanliness.

The five-day cleaning action concluded in the Ilidža Centar Local Community, and the Municipality of Ilidža organized a barbecue gathering for all workers and participants. On that occasion, Mayor Muzur presented certificates of appreciation to all enterprises for their contribution and participation in the major action.
