
(Patria) - A passenger plane with 62 people crashed in Brazil, near the city of Sao Paulo.
City officials from Valinhos stated that there were no survivors and that no one on the ground was injured in the crash of the aircraft.
The plane, which was heading towards Guarulhos International Airport in the state of Sao Paulo, crashed in the city of Vinhedo, not far from Sao Paulo. There were 58 passengers and four crew members on board.
The plane hit several houses upon impact, CNN reports.
Brazilian television network GloboNews showed footage of a large area in flames and smoke rising from the apparent fuselage of the plane in a residential area full of houses.
Local firefighters confirmed that the plane crashed in the city of Vinhedo and that they had sent seven teams to the scene of the accident.
