The 7th Turkish Film Festival was officially opened with the premiere screening of the film "The Last Letter" by director Özhan Eren at the National Theatre in Sarajevo, reports the BH News Agency Patria.
The festival was opened by Nihat Gül, Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey. As he emphasized in his address, the festival was organized by the General Directorate of Cinema of the Republic of Turkey and the Office of the Cultural and Tourism Advisor of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in BiH. Gül expressed his satisfaction that the festival is being organized in Bosnia and Herzegovina and expressed hope that the BiH audience will enjoy the films.
Ataş e Sahin Soner, on behalf of the host, the Office for Culture and Tourism of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in BiH, stated that there are many commonalities between these two countries.
The films will be screened at Sarajevo's Meeting Point Cinema, and the Festival will last until April 27 in Sarajevo, and from April 28 to May 2 in Zenica.
The Sarajevo audience will be able to enjoy the screening of six films by renowned Turkish directors, including the most watched and most expensive Turkish film of all time, Fatih 1453, which will be shown for the first time. All films are subtitled in local languages and English, and admission is free for all visitors.
