Will the Council of Ministers' agenda include the Framework Budget Document and the Draft Budget?

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The session of the Council of Ministers of BiH is scheduled for Wednesday, April 20, 2022, starting at 11:00 AM in the building of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Ministry of Finance and Treasury is simultaneously preparing the Framework Budget Document (FBD) for the period 2022-2024 and the Draft Budget of the Institutions of BiH and International Obligations of BiH for 2022. Upon completion, both documents will be sent to the Council of Ministers of BiH for adoption. Activities are underway to complete all procedures and necessary technical corrections.

The Council of Ministers of BiH, which adopts the Draft Budget, forwards it to the constitutional proposer, the Presidency of BiH, which then sends it to the parliamentary procedure.

The final word in this entire process lies with the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, where the Law on the Budget of the Institutions of BiH and International Obligations of BiH for 2022 is adopted.

The adoption of the budget and the entire procedure should be completed by mid-May, given that the General Elections will be called at the beginning of May, and financial resources must be secured 15 days from the date of the call. BiH adopted its last budget for 2020 at the end of July that year, and the entire 2021 and three months of 2022 passed with decisions on temporary financing.
