On this day war criminal Mladić was arrested, Hartmann warns he could die before verdict

On this day in 2001, Ratko Mladić was arrested near Belgrade in Serbia. He was arrested by the Serbian intelligence service BIA in the village of Lazarevo near Zrenjanin, writes Patria.

Ratko Mladić is on trial at the Tribunal in The Hague for the crime of genocide in Srebrenica. The arrest of Mladić was one of the points of the judgment of the International Court of Justice in The Hague (ICJ) in the lawsuit of Bosnia and Herzegovina against Serbia.

His arrest was accelerated after the murder of two Serbian soldiers in the barracks at Topčider. After this case, bodyguard Branislav Puhalo, who was the head of security for Ratko Mladić, received the rank of captain first class for achievements in the Army of Serbia and Montenegro.

During the arrest of Slobodan Milošević, Mladić's security on April 1, 2001, liquidated soldier Bojan Miljković from Bor. After the murder, his body was thrown overnight onto the railway tracks in Topčider.

These days, Florence Hartmann warned that Mladić, due to inadequate medical treatment, could die before the verdict, writes NAP.
