40 vehicles collide on Hungarian highway, including trucks, cars burn

(Patria) - More than 40 trucks and cars collided today on the 26th kilometer of the M1 highway, on the side leading out of Budapest. A fire broke out immediately after the collision. According to preliminary data, 19 vehicles burned in the accident, and a total of 36 people were injured, one of whom sustained life-threatening injuries. Thirteen people suffered serious bodily injuries. The highway is closed in both directions. Fortunately, there were no people in the vehicles.

According to images from the scene, there was a lot of dust in the surroundings even when the rescue operation began.

Numerous forces of firefighters, police, and emergency services were dispatched to the scene, with 70 firefighters from 7 cities arriving.
