Muzur: Almost all water restrictions lifted, EBRD loan implementation to follow

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton Elmedin Konaković and acting director of KJKP Vodovod i kanalizacija Azra Muzur today presented the results of the new management's work, as well as the current situation with water supply in Sarajevo Canton.

Konaković stated that the KS Government is very satisfied with what has been achieved in one month.

- We are fixing breakdowns daily, people are constantly in the field, the elimination of all breakdowns is almost complete, and repairs of all old breakdowns should be finished by the end of the week - said Konaković.

KJKP ViK generated a profit of 4.3 million KM in this month alone. It was emphasized that water restrictions have been lifted, except in areas with technical problems.

Konaković announced that the implementation of the EBRD loan is to follow. We remind you that 50 million KM has been approved for the Sarajevo Waterworks project, which will be paid in three installments for the reconstruction of the water and sewage network.

Acting director of Sarajevo Waterworks, Azra Muzur, pointed out that nearly 740 breakdowns have been repaired in the last month, and preparations for the next year are already underway.

- At the beginning of November, all water restrictions were lifted, except in those parts where it is technically impossible to supply high-rise buildings, so there are restrictions from 00:00 to 05:00 during the night due to reservoir filling. Through better system management, we have reduced all restrictions from 2,800 liters per second, unlike last year when restrictions were active and we had 3,100 liters per second.

Muzur announced better company organization in the coming period, as well as the establishment of measuring points on the network to accurately determine water losses.
