MUP ZDK: Weapons, baseball bats, drugs found in raids...

On Saturday, January 16, 2016, during the night hours, police teams in the Zenica-Doboj Canton conducted raids and searches of premises and individuals, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

The planned measures and actions were preceded by a detailed analysis and assessment, when a selection of catering establishments was made, for which there were operational findings that they are frequented by persons prone to committing criminal offenses and misdemeanors, as well as persons prone to illegal possession and carrying of weapons.

As part of these raids, which were carried out by police teams of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Zenica-Doboj Canton in all cities in the Canton, 125 premises were inspected, where 931 individuals were checked.

On that occasion, a number of cold weapons (knives and baseball bats) and CS sprays were confiscated. The mentioned activities also led to the discovery and seizure of a certain amount of plant and powdery substance that by its appearance resembles narcotic drugs and which will be subject to necessary expert examinations at the Department for Forensic Techniques and KDZ of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Zenica-Doboj Canton.

Also, in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Public Order and Peace of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, in 8 cases, misdemeanor warrants were issued to persons in catering establishments for serving alcoholic beverages to minors, and 2 misdemeanor warrants were issued for failure to comply with the order of an authorized official.
