ZDK Ministry of Interior detains two citizens from RS found with M-48 rifle near Vozuća, to be handed over to Prosecutor's Office after processing

(Patria) - On Saturday around 6:45 PM, the Zavidovići Police Station was informed by gamekeeper H. A. that he found two unknown persons with a firearm in the area of Miljevići, Zavidovići City, within the hunting grounds.

Immediately upon receiving the report, police officers from the Zavidovići Police Station were dispatched to the location, where they found L. NJ., born in 2000, residing in Banja Luka, and L. N., born in 2003, residing in Gradiška, who were carrying a firearm, an M-48 rifle with four bullets, and a flashlight attached to the rifle with adhesive tape, according to the response from the ZDK Ministry of Interior to Patria's inquiry.

The said individuals were brought to the premises of the Zavidovići Police Station, after which criminal proceedings were initiated against them, and the firearm was confiscated from L. NJ. The duty prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Zenica was informed of all the above.

During the criminal proceedings, the said individuals stated that they were in Miljevići with their families to mark the death of their grandmother, and that they found the rifle in an old house and took it into the woods, where they were found by the gamekeeper.

During the day, police officers from the Zavidovići Police Station will take the necessary measures and actions in accordance with the Law on Criminal Procedure of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to determine the circumstances of possession of the said weapon, and after the documentation is completed, a report on the committed criminal offense of "Illegal possession of weapons or explosives" from Article 371, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of the FBiH will be submitted to the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of the Zenica-Doboj Canton against L. NJ.
