SARAJevo, (Patria) - Police teams of the Directorate of the Ministry of Interior of Zenica-Doboj Canton early this morning simultaneously began searches at 21 locations in the area of Visoko and Breza, two locations in the Canton of Sarajevo, two locations in the Central Bosnia Canton, and three locations in the Brčko District of BiH.
This is an extensive police operation codenamed "META", carried out by the Directorate of the Ministry of Interior of Zenica-Doboj Canton, and it is aimed at apprehending and prosecuting individuals suspected of committing the criminal offenses of "Unauthorized Production and Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs" under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of BiH and "Illegal Possession of Weapons or Explosive Materials" under Article 371 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of BiH.
Activities within the "META" operation are being undertaken in cooperation and under the supervision of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Zenica-Doboj Canton, and actions are being taken based on orders from the municipal courts in Zenica and Visoko. Today's activities are being carried out in cooperation with police teams from the Federal Police Administration, the Directorate of the Ministry of Interior of Canton Sarajevo, the Directorate of the Ministry of Interior of Central Bosnia Canton, and the Brčko District of BiH Police.
More details about the results of the operation itself will be confirmed during the day, after the completion of the indicated activities which are still ongoing, stated the ZDK Ministry of Interior in a press release.
