Zenica-Doboj Canton Ministry of Interior: Two individuals from Doboj arrested for writing hate-inciting graffiti

(Patria) - Two individuals with initials L. D., (born 2005) and A. N., (born 2005), both from Doboj, committed a criminal offense yesterday around 5:10 PM in the settlement of Karuše, municipality of Doboj Jug, for "inciting national, racial, and religious hatred, discord, or intolerance", by writing graffiti with the name of convicted war criminal Ratko Mladić on the inside of a bus stop.

The mentioned individuals were caught in the act of committing the criminal offense and were quickly apprehended by police officers from the Doboj Jug Police Station and detained.

During their apprehension and search, six acrylic spray paints used for the graffiti were found. Checks confirmed that these individuals purchased the paints shortly before committing the offense, i.e., writing the graffiti, at a store located opposite the bus stop, the Ministry of Interior of Zenica-Doboj Canton announced.

The duty prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Zenica-Doboj Canton was immediately informed of all the above, and actions were taken according to their orders and instructions.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated against the individuals, and they will be questioned as suspects regarding the circumstances of the criminal offense they are accused of.

An investigation was conducted by teams from the Doboj Jug Police Station, and after criminal proceedings, questioning of the suspects, and collection of evidence and information, a report on the committed criminal offense and identification of the perpetrator will be submitted to the Prosecutor's Office of Zenica-Doboj Canton against individuals L.D. and A.N., due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they have committed the criminal offense of "inciting national, racial, and religious hatred, discord, or intolerance" under Article 163 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Ministry of Interior of Zenica-Doboj Canton stated.
