The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska has submitted a report to the Special Prosecutor's Office of RS against four known and two unknown persons, in connection with the attack on Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić in Potočari in July last year, reports the news agency Patria.
The report mentions Almir Merdić, Elvedin Himzić and Mujo Dizdarević, all with residence in Tešanj, and Armin Šahomerović from Srebrenica. The identities of two unknown persons will be sought with the help of the Federation of BiH police.
They are charged with five criminal offenses, including attempted aggravated murder and inciting national intolerance. Merdić, Himzić and Dizdarević were arrested by SIPA ten days after the attack on Prime Minister Vučić, but after being questioned at the BiH Prosecutor's Office in Sarajevo, they were released and no indictment was filed against them.
- Given that at the BiH level, the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies and the BiH Prosecutor's Office did nothing, we submitted a report against six persons on April 1 - confirmed RS Minister of Internal Affairs Dragan Lukač, and explained that the public was not informed earlier because, in agreement with the Special Prosecutor's Office, additional information was being collected.
Gojko Vasić, Director of the RS Police, said that the police had collected dozens of pieces of evidence and recordings of individuals attacking the Prime Minister.
Boris Grubešić, spokesperson for the BiH Prosecutor's Office, said that the case of the investigation into the attack on Prime Minister Vučić is with that prosecutor's office and that they are working together with the Special Prosecutor's Office of RS, reports „Večernje novosti“.
