RS Ministry of Interior breaks up drug-dealing group: Eight people arrested, property gain of 2.7 million euros

(Patria) - The criminal group arrested in the operation codenamed "Prolom 2" is suspected of procuring and reselling large quantities of drugs, thereby, it is suspected, acquiring property gain of around 2.7 million euros.

In the operation, as ATV reports, Biljana Janjić, Davor Dabić, former member of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina Marko Golubović known as Pljusko, Bojan Simić, employee of the RS Post Office, Nenad Ćuković known as Ćevap, Elma Baraković, and Željko Grabovac were arrested.

Two individuals are still being sought, among them Branislav Janjić, against whom an indictment for drug trafficking in another case was recently confirmed.

According to unofficial information, he left Bosnia and Herzegovina at the beginning of September, and a warrant will be issued for him.

As part of the operation, the property of the director of a well-known health institution, Nenad Gajić, was searched in Banja Luka and Laktaši. According to ATV's findings, no report will be filed against him with the prosecutor's office, and he will likely have the status of a witness.

Branimir Šehovac, Chief of the East Sarajevo Police Administration of the RS Ministry of Interior, said at a press conference that a criminal report will be filed against eight individuals with the District Public Prosecutor's Office in East Sarajevo on suspicion of committing the criminal offenses of unauthorized production and trafficking of drugs and illegal production and trafficking of weapons.

He stated that the operation "Prolom 2" was launched last year following cooperation with Europol and analysis of data from the Sky and Anom applications used by the suspects.

"By applying special investigative measures, it was determined that the suspects had, in the previous period, arranged the purchase, distribution, and resale of cocaine, marijuana, amphetamines, ecstasy, heroin, as well as substances for drug production. On several occasions, they illegally procured, possessed, sold, and exchanged firearms," said Šehovac.

According to his words, it is suspected that the group acquired property gain of 2.7 million euros through these criminal acts, and that they carried out the illegal distribution of approximately 52 kilograms of cocaine, around 170 kilograms of marijuana, 47,800 ecstasy tablets, about 10 kilograms of speed, and 19 liters of amphetamine oil.

He emphasized that searches were conducted in East Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Laktaši, and in Sarajevo Canton.

Incidentally, Baraković was also arrested in 2023 in the Overdose operation conducted by the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
