CS MUP: 209 traffic accidents in seven days, 21 drivers excluded due to alcohol

In the past seven days (from September 23 to 29), according to the report of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, a total of 209 traffic accidents occurred in which 18 people were slightly injured and 6 seriously injured, writes the BH News Agency Patria.

Through regular controls by members of the CS MUP, 21 drivers were excluded from traffic for driving a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

Fifteen people were found driving without a driver's license and were excluded from traffic, while 24 unregistered vehicles were recorded.

This statistic is not encouraging, and the fact about the number of drivers who get behind the wheel under the influence of alcohol is even more devastating.

As Irfan Nefić, spokesperson for the CS MUP, told the Patria agency, CS MUP members conduct enhanced controls 24 hours a day.

- Some controls are intensified at night, but we emphasize driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a seatbelt, and driving without a license - said Nefić.

He noted that traffic participants will be subject to increased controls in the coming period, and that during night controls, they often find items that were used in some incidents or other suspicious items.
