MUP KS: Seven people arrested in "Start" operation for organized crime

(Patria) - Police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, in the implementation of the operational-tactical action "Start", carried out under the supervision of the acting prosecutors of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, have arrested seven people, five men and two women.

Due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they have committed the criminal offense of Organized Crime /Art. 250 of the Criminal Code of BiH/ in connection with the criminal offense of Money Laundering /Art. 209 of the Criminal Code of BiH/, the following were arrested: E.K. (33) from Sarajevo, E.B. (38) from Sarajevo, E.R. (31) from Sarajevo, M.D. (33) from Sarajevo, S.H. (29) from Sarajevo.

Due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they have committed the criminal offense of Organized Crime /Art. 342 paras. 2 and 3 of the Criminal Code of FBiH/ in connection with the criminal offenses of Abuse of Office or Authority /Art. 383 para. 3 of the Criminal Code of FBiH/, Acceptance of Gifts and Other Forms of Benefit /Art. 380 of the Criminal Code of FBiH/, Giving Gifts or Other Forms of Benefit /Art. 381 para. 1 of the Criminal Code of FBiH/ and Money Laundering /Art. 272 paras. 3 and 4 of the Criminal Code of FBiH/, the following were arrested: I.H. (60) from Sarajevo, A.D. (42) from Sarajevo.

After criminal processing, the arrested individuals were placed in the premises of the Detention Unit for Detained Persons of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, and will be handed over to the competent acting prosecutors during the day.

More than 150 police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton participated in the implementation of the "Start" operation. Searches were carried out at 30 locations in the municipalities of Stari Grad, Novo Sarajevo, Vogošća, and Ilidža. The searches included residential buildings, business and official premises, and passenger motor vehicles. During the searches, documentation, electronic data storage devices, cash and jewelry, as well as numerous other items and evidence of interest were found and seized.
