MUP KS: Checks underway regarding attempted abduction of a boy in Buča Potok

After a post marked “ATTENTION” was shared on social media on 29.05.2016, stating that in the Buča Potok area there was an attempted abduction of a 15-year-old boy, in which three unknown men tried to put the boy into the trunk of a “Toyota” station wagon, but that the boy managed to escape, the MUP KS has checked these claims.

The same post also stated that the following day, 30.05.2016, unknown persons from the same vehicle harassed a 13-year-old girl at the Otoka roundabout.

- Checks have established that the described incidents were not reported to police officers. In order to verify the mentioned claims, an interview was conducted with the person who posted the information, as well as with the mother of the boy who recounted the events.

The prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Sarajevo was informed, who ordered that all necessary measures and actions be taken to fully clarify the incident and determine whether there are elements of a criminal offense.

We appeal to citizens to immediately report such and similar incidents to the police, rather than posting unverified and unreported information on social media, thereby causing public alarm and a sense of insecurity among citizens.
