MUP KS: More robberies and serious thefts of motor vehicles solved

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Police officers of the Property Crimes Department, Criminal Police Sector, Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, during the previous period, by undertaking planned measures and activities to solve and document criminal offenses under Article 289 (Robbery) and 287 (Serious theft of motor vehicles) of the Criminal Code of FBiH, committed in the Sarajevo Canton area between March and September this year, took a series of operational and tactical measures and actions with the aim of obtaining sufficient evidence related to persons connected with the commission of the said criminal offenses.

The perpetrators of the criminal offenses in the mentioned period have been identified as: B. A. (1988), Z. H. (1990), D. A. (1983), H. E. (1975), V. A. (1991), O. H. (1994), all from Sarajevo, and G. A. (1980) from East Sarajevo.

"In order to further document the criminal activities of the said persons, both independently and in cooperation with other police agencies and organizational units of the Police Administration, based on previously obtained orders from the competent Court, several searches were carried out in the Sarajevo Canton and East Sarajevo areas, during which items related to the commission of criminal offenses were seized and which can serve as evidence in criminal proceedings, the MUP KS announced.

A report on committed criminal offenses has been filed with the competent Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton against the aforementioned seven persons, due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they committed four criminal offenses in the mentioned period: robbery in a branch of 'Raiffeisen bank' in Hrasnica, Ilidža municipality; robbery in the business premises of 'Genelec' doo in Ložionička street, Novo Sarajevo municipality; serious theft of a passenger motor vehicle (pmv) of the 'Škoda Fabia' make with Austrian license plates from B. Nušić street, Novi Grad Sarajevo Municipality area, and theft of a 'Toyota Yaris' pmv with BiH license plates from Talirević street, Stari Grad Sarajevo municipality," the MUP KS announced.

Police officers of the Property Crimes Department are continuing their work on documenting the criminal activities of the said persons, as there are grounds for suspicion that, in addition to the aforementioned four, they committed several criminal offenses in the Sarajevo Canton area during the mentioned period.

The said persons are suspected of first committing serious thefts of motor vehicles, and then using the stolen vehicles during the commission of robbery offenses, and so far, six vehicles have been found, which are suspected to have been stolen by them and then used for the commission of robbery offenses.

Persons B. A. and D. A. were handed over on September 13 by police officers of the Property Crimes Department to the further jurisdiction of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, while persons Z. H. and G. R. were handed over on the same day by police officers of the FUP, within the framework of the operation 'Orka', to the further jurisdiction of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of HNK, given that they are also connected with criminal offenses committed in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton area, person H. E. is already in custody based on the proposal of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, while V.A. is serving a prison sentence at the Zenica Penitentiary, and person O. H. was released to defend himself from freedom after criminal processing in the previous period, with the consent of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton.
