Mostar gets budget on time for the first time

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Mostar City Council adopted the Budget of the City of Mostar for 2022 in the total amount of 92 million marks and announced a revision in just three months.

Mayor of Mostar Mario Kordić said he is satisfied with the fact that the budget was adopted on time for the first time, which opens the possibility for the City of Mostar to actively start implementing budget items from the first month for the benefit of Mostar's citizens.

He pointed out that this is not a large budget, but he is pleased that it is realistically planned and not "inflated."

"During the session, we discussed amendments from both the ruling and opposition parties, none of which we accepted. However, I tried to explain that most of these amendments are fantastic ideas and something we are already thinking about and want to provide for Mostar. But it would be irresponsible to inflate the budget at this moment just for the sake of it. However, I can gladly announce that we have an idea, a plan, and indications that by the third month we will largely increase revenues. The financial demands of the amendments were not particularly large, so I believe that during the technical revision of the budget, which must be done in the third month, we will implement a good part, and perhaps most, of these amendments," Kordić said.
