(Patria) - Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) today (02/04/2025) apprehended an individual in the Mostar area based on an arrest warrant.
The individual was serving a prison sentence at the Correctional Facility in Busovača and was released on leave a few months ago, after which he failed to return to serve his sentence.
According to SIPA's information, the individual was using a false identity and possessed an unknown quantity of narcotics and weapons.
The individual was located today in the Mostar area and, during apprehension, actively resisted police officers of SIPA, threatening to detonate a hand grenade.
During the process of bringing the individual under control, a police officer of SIPA used a firearm, and the individual sustained a gunshot wound to the foot. A hand grenade was confiscated from him.
An investigation is currently underway by police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton.
The investigation is being conducted under the supervision of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton.
The individual, accompanied by SIPA police officers, was taken to the competent healthcare facility in Mostar.
