Monsters from Grbavica: Gojković raped a woman in front of her husband, whom Batko later slit his throat

The prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has filed an indictment against Milkan Gojković, born on July 16, 1966, in the village of Maravići, Rogatica municipality, where he resides, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as announced by the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, reports the Patria news agency.

He is charged with acting contrary to the Geneva Convention on the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War during September 1992, during the state of war in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the armed conflict between the Army of Republika Srpska and the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a soldier of the VRS, in the area of the Grbavica settlement in the Sarajevo municipality of Novo Sarajevo, by violating personal dignity through particularly insulting and degrading acts, and by attacking the dignity of the victim, a female person of Bosniak nationality.

The indictment charges that on September 29, 1992, in the evening hours, together with VRS member Veselin Vlahović, nicknamed Batko, and two unknown VRS members, he came armed to a family house, and by knocking on the door, entered the house, where they found a married couple with their then-minor daughter.

While one of the soldiers stood guard outside the door, the accused, using force and threats, committed rape and sexual abuse of the victim of Bosniak nationality, which was carried out in a particularly cruel manner, in front of her husband, whom Batko and the other unknown soldier forced to watch, after which Batko killed him by brutally slitting her husband's throat.

Milkan Gojković is charged with committing the criminal offense of war crimes against the civilian population under Article 173, paragraph 1, item e) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina in conjunction with Article 180, paragraph 1 of the same Law.

The indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
