MojPorez.ba: Find out how many days you work for taxes and how many for yourself

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Tax Freedom Day is a significant date for taxpayers and decision-makers as it shows how long Bosnians and Herzegovinians need to work to pay all of this year's taxes.

Today, theoretically, BiH society has earned enough to pay its taxes, so we wish all citizens a happy Tax Freedom Day!

On this occasion, the Center for Policies and Management presented the updated website www.mojporez.ba where you can calculate your personal Tax Freedom Day – the day when you stop working to pay taxes and start working for yourself.

- Due to the complex tax system and the complex administrative structure of the state apparatus, the collection and expenditure of taxes are poorly understood by citizens. The tax calculator is a platform that allows you, in a simple and interesting way, to calculate the total taxes you pay on a monthly/annual basis based on work and consumption, and then where your money is spent – it was announced from CPU.

Thus, each citizen, after entering basic information about their income and expenses, will receive three pieces of information.

First, they will find out how much tax they pay annually and monthly and on what basis they pay it. Then, they will receive a personal "public services bill" which will show how and on what their tax is spent, and on it they will see their own contributions for pensions, healthcare, external debt repayment, roads and highways, public services, etc.

Finally, it will calculate the personal Tax Freedom Day for each user.

- The platform was first presented last year, and now it has been further improved and updated. Tax rates have been updated, i.e., changes in tax rates (increase in excise duties on tobacco products and increase in highway tolls according to the new BiH Excise Law). Data on how taxes are spent in accordance with last year's budgets at all levels of government have also been updated – it is further stated.
