Young man jumps into Jablaničko Lake and drowns

(Patria) - A tragedy occurred on Jablaničko Lake. A younger man drowned after jumping from a raft into the water.

The Konjic Police Department confirmed that the tragedy took place.

“On July 5, 2023 at 5:00 PM, we received a call for intervention on Jablaničko Lake in the area of Donje Paprasko, from the duty officer of the Konjic Police Department. The search and rescue team under water of the Intervention Rescue Service went to the field at 6:20 PM. An interview was conducted with the persons who were at the scene. We received information that a younger male person jumped from a raft that was located near the shore and did not resurface from the water," the information states.

After a brief underwater search of the area, an unknown male person was found at a depth of 5 meters, about ten meters from the shore.

"The body was in a classic drowning position. The body was removed from the water and handed over to the competent authorities. We express our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased," announced the ISS Mostar.
