SARAJEVO, (Patria) – Nineteen-year-old J.B. from Goražde was deprived of his liberty after hitting a police vehicle with his Audi A4, in which police officers were seated. Three officers were injured.
The driver of the Audi caused a traffic accident around 3:30 a.m. in Novi Grad at the intersection of Bulevar Meše Selimovića and X transferzala streets, involving another vehicle. J.B. fled the scene, running a red light in the direction of Ilidža.
Police officers from the Ilidža Police Station attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver continued towards Hadžići. In the Resnik settlement, he struck a police vehicle, causing it to overturn. The fugitive continued further but hit an embankment and ended up in a ditch, where he was subdued by police officers. Several police vehicles took part in the pursuit.
J.B. was first placed under supervision and then deprived of his liberty. A criminal investigation is currently underway regarding the arrested young man. He will be charged with the criminal offense of assault on an authorized official.
