Mladen Samardžija handed over to the BiH Prosecutor's Office, pre-trial detention will be requested

(Patria) - Police officers of the MUP of RS handed over the suspect Samardžija Mladen, born in 1990 in Kranj, who was located, identified, and deprived of liberty in an operation codenamed "Tokyo" by the BiH Prosecutor's Office and the MUP of RS, conducted in the area of Jahorina, to the acting prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime, and Corruption.

The suspect had been on the run for a longer period and is suspected in a case of the BiH Prosecutor's Office, with evidence from SKY and Anom applications.

He is accused of being at the top of an organized criminal group that was involved in smuggling large quantities of hard drugs from South America and the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina and neighboring countries. Within the operational action codenamed "Tokyo", the Prosecutor's Office and police agencies are achieving significant cooperation with EUROPOL structures, and during the action, a large quantity of money, weapons, and vehicles were seized.

After questioning the suspect, given his prolonged period on the run, pre-trial detention will be requested for him.
