One month detention for 14 hooligans for organized attack on fans near Tuzla Airport

(Patria) - The Municipal Court in Živinice ordered one-month detention for 14 individuals arrested after violent riots and a fight between fans near Tuzla International Airport, which occurred on Saturday evening.

The proposal for detention for 11 citizens of Croatia and three citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina was submitted to the pre-trial judge of the Municipal Court in Živinice by the Prosecutor's Office of Tuzla Canton (TK).

Detention was ordered for Croatian citizens: Josip Kustura (39), Ivan Beoković (33), Tomislav Kustura (40), Alen Barunčić (22), Marko Jovanović (25), Petar Vukasović (45), Pero Vujčić (31) from Split, Marin Kristian Mikelić (24) from Trogir, Roko Kalašić (22) from Pula, Duje Penić (30) from Ploče, and Ivan Vrsalović (25) from Supetar.

Also, it was ordered for three citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina: Marko Primorac (27) from Čitluk, Josip Sivrić (20) from Međugorje, and Andrej Jokić (28) from Brčko (who also holds Austrian citizenship).

The suspects are charged with the criminal offense of participating in a group of people who commit a criminal offense (Article 341, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of FBiH).

The TK Prosecutor's Office previously announced that the suspects, on January 24, 2026, around 10 PM, acted as an organized group in the area of Gornje Dubrave.

According to the statement, they arrived at the location in several vehicles and waited for a group of fans of FK Crvena zvezda, whom they knew were returning by plane from Malmö after a match played in Sweden.

After the fans left the airport premises, a fierce attack was carried out, during which physical force, wooden clubs, metal rods, flares, and other objects were used.

In the attack, four people sustained serious bodily injuries, including a police officer from the Živinice Police Department who intervened at the scene. A larger number of people sustained minor injuries.

The TK Prosecutor's Office points out that after the incident, more than 70 people were detained and questioned at the premises of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of TK Police Administration, after which they were released.

Detention was requested due to circumstances indicating a risk of flight, the possibility of re-offending or continuing criminal activities, and disturbing public order and safety on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Among the injured is a young man from Prijedor, who sustained multiple injuries to his head, chest, and limbs.

UKC Tuzla spokesperson Eldar Šehić confirmed that this patient is in the Clinic for Anesthesiology and Resuscitation, his vital parameters are stable, and his condition is not worsening for now.
