Mirjana Marković buried in Požarevac, Dačić sent a wreath

(Patria) - The widow of former President of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and Hague indictee Slobodan Milošević, Mirjana Marković, was buried today in Požarevac. The urn with her ashes was placed under a linden tree in the yard of the family home where Milošević was also buried in 2006, reported Radio Free Europe.

The yard was filled with people who came to pay their respects, priests of the Braničevo Eparchy held a funeral service, and the urn was lowered into the ground to the Russian song "Moscow Nights."

The Socialist Party of Serbia announced that a delegation of the party attended the burial, consisting of Slavica Đukić Dejanović, Žarko Obradović, Vladan Zagradjanin, and Đorđe Čabarkapa. According to the SPS, they laid a wreath sent by the party president, Ivica Dačić.

Marković died on April 14 at the age of 77, after complications caused by pneumonia.
