(Patria) - The defence ministers of the G7 countries, the world's leading democracies, support "Ukraine's irreversible path to full Euro-Atlantic integration, including NATO membership," they announced in a joint statement.
"We emphasise our intention to continue providing support to Ukraine, including both short-term and long-term military assistance in its fight against Russia.
We reaffirm our unwavering support for the freedom, sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine, for as long as it takes," said the G7 ministers after a meeting in Naples, Italy.
They called on Iran to stop supporting the Palestinian Hamas, as well as the Lebanese Hezbollah and the Houthis in Yemen.
"The G7 calls on Iran to refrain from providing support to Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis and other non-state actors, as well as from taking any additional measures that could destabilise the region and trigger a process of uncontrolled escalation," the ministers added in a joint statement.
