The Cantonal Court in Bihać found Marinko Miljević guilty of a crime against the civilian population committed in Ključ and sentenced him to eight years in prison.
According to the verdict, Miljević, as a member of the Army of Republika Srpska (VRS), killed Azem Kučuković in the first half of August 1992 in the village of Gornji Budelj, BIRN reported, as carried by the Patria agency.
“The prosecution succeeded in unequivocally proving the guilt of the accused. The testimonies of witnesses Jovica Oklandžija and Milan Radišić were particularly valued,” said Jasminka Karabegović, presiding judge of the Trial Chamber.
The time Miljević spent in custody from May 19 to June 10 last year will be credited toward the imposed sentence.
The accused Miljević did not attend the pronouncement of the verdict, which can be appealed to the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Patria reports.
