One million Ukrainians have left the country since the start of the Russian aggression

(Patria) - One million refugees have fled Ukraine to neighboring countries since the start of the Russian attack on that country last Thursday, said UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi.

"In just seven days, we have witnessed the exodus of one million refugees from Ukraine to neighboring countries," Grandi wrote on his Twitter.

He also stated that for millions more within Ukraine, it is time for the weapons to fall silent so that humanitarian aid can arrive and save lives.

Grandi planned to travel in the coming days to Romania, Moldova, and Poland, three countries that have accepted a large number of Ukrainian refugees on their soil.

The United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution on Wednesday in which it "demands that Russia immediately cease the use of force in Ukraine" and which was voted for by 141 countries, five were against, and 35 abstained, including China, out of a total of 193 countries in the organization.

The United Nations Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine announced that as of midnight on March 1, it had recorded 752 civilian casualties in Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian invasion, reports The Kyiv Independent.
