Milićević: Call to businesses to apply for subsidies

(Patria) - Deputy Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH and Federal Minister of Finance Jelka Milićević today called on all business entities that meet the conditions prescribed by the Law on Mitigating Negative Economic Consequences to submit an application for subsidizing contributions on the minimum wage for April of this year to the Tax Administration of the Federation of BiH by May 29.

"The Law stipulates that business entities submit an application to the Tax Administration by the 10th of the month for wage contribution subsidies for the previous month. As the law has just entered into force and started to be applied, economic entities do not have time to do so by May 10. The Government of the FBiH has today extended the deadline for submitting these applications until May 29," explained Minister Milićević.

The Federal Minister points out that this is an opportunity to exercise the right granted by the Law on Mitigating Negative Economic Consequences, but notes that the deadline extension applies only to submitting applications for subsidizing minimum wages for April 2020.

"Next month, the deadline set by the Law remains, which is by the 10th of the current month for the previous month. The entire procedure and instructions for submitting these applications will be published on the website of the Tax Administration of the FBiH - says the Minister of Finance. With the Law on Mitigating Negative Economic Consequences, the Government of the FBiH is helping domestic economy whose operations are threatened due to the coronavirus pandemic, and one of the aid measures is subsidizing contributions on the minimum wage for Pension and Disability Insurance (PIO/MIO), health insurance, and unemployment insurance in the total amount of 245 KM to workers of business entities that meet the conditions for this law," she added.
