Milanović: January 9th is a holiday, but with the wrong songs; thousands of Croats and Muslims killed in RS in '92

(Patria) - Croatian President Zoran Milanović did not last long and today commented again on the events in BiH. This time not only political, but also the Constitutional Court of BiH, i.e., the decision on declaring January 9th an unconstitutional day.

"They could not have chosen a worse day for the Day of Republika Srpska. The fact that it is an unconstitutional holiday is irrelevant, it is not unconstitutional, it was chosen incorrectly and offends some people. The Constitutional Court will not determine which holiday it is, however, it is the date after which the referendum in BiH took place. The problem is that in 1992, thousands of Croats, I am saying this as the Croatian president, but also many more Muslims were killed in Republika Srpska," Milanović stated, adding that Dodik is currently Croatia's partner in BiH.

"Fortunately, it is Milorad Dodik, who did not have blood on his hands in the war. He once said that Zagreb should be attacked, they would have killed him if he hadn't said that, but he didn't do it. Dodik was the darling of the West and is now the legitimate representative of the Serb people. Republika Srpska was declared in 1992, but ratified by the Dayton Agreement. Tuđman signed it, there's no going back. Unless a new war breaks out, is anyone ready to wage a new war?" Milanović asked.

"Currently, Croats in BiH need a partner, and as for the songs sung in Banja Luka, if you ask me, the artistic director failed. Wrong songs, meaningless. If we agree that our interest is not to have Croats robbed there, we need a partner," Milanović added.

Milanović then shifted the focus to the amendments to the Election Law of BiH, stating that two things are being taken from Croats, one of which is more important.

"The House of Peoples is more important. They are trying to completely disenfranchise them. Here, the Croatian government must be categorical, and that is Plenković's job, not to send people to Brussels who return home crumpled and defeated. I expect Plenković to be one step ahead of me, not for me to deal with this. I don't see Serbian politics in BiH harming Croats. Without Serbs in BiH, we will not solve this problem. I care, but some clearly don't care enough," Milanović concluded.

This time, not even Prime Minister Plenković can justify the Croatian president, as he tried to do in the case of statements about genocide and Srebrenica. The damage that Milanović is causing to both Croatia and relations with BiH will be tallied by those who will have to repair it.
