FBiH Vice President Milan Dunović visited Goražde on Wednesday, where he met with the Prime Minister of the Bosansko-podrinjski Canton Goražde, Emir Oković, and other representatives of the legislative and executive authorities of this canton. The participants of the meeting discussed current social and economic issues, referring to the newly adopted FBiH Tax Law and the issue of reducing public revenues for the Bosansko-podrinjski Canton Goražde, reports the BH News Agency Patria.
- Goražde is a positive example where it has been shown that the private sector can create a positive story. However, the new Decree on Revenue Distribution, recently adopted by the Federal Ministry of Finance, which uses preliminary census data from 2013, will create a problem. I think Goražde is economically damaged by this. We also have a danger that exporters, who no longer have the right to exemption from profit tax, will have additional problems with already signed business contracts and pre-agreed terms for exports, which conflict with this Law. Goražde is definitely damaged by these changes, because the economy here is primarily export-oriented - stated Vice President Dunović.
The conclusion of the meeting was that the Bosansko-podrinjski Canton Goražde, as one of the ten equal administrative units within the Federation of BiH, needs understanding and support from higher levels of government in order to unhinderedly fulfill its constitutional competencies and obligations.
As part of his all-day visit to Goražde, Dunović also met with representatives of the company „Prevent Goražde“ d.o.o., and visited the production facilities of three members of the Prevent Group in the area: Prevent Goražde - production of car seat covers, Prevent Safety - production of protective equipment and gloves, and Prevent Components - production of plastic components for the automotive industry. Lejla Ferhadbegović - location manager of Prevent Goražde, Nedžad Pita - director of Prevent Safety, and Enes Hadziahmić - director of Prevent Components presented the company's work to date and the challenges they face in the market to Vice President Dunović.
In the village of Šašići, municipality of Goražde, Vice President Dunović also visited the Jovanović family, where he was hosted by Milenko Jovanović. Jovanović did not leave his home even during the worst period of the war, and today he is engaged in agriculture. During the conversation, he emphasized that he lives well with his mother from honest work. However, he lacks the basic necessities for agricultural activity, which further complicates his work. Vice President Dunović promised to help this family find a long-term solution to this problem.
