Milan Bandić manages Zagreb from prison

The Deputy Mayor of Zagreb, Sandra Švaljek, stated today that the City of Zagreb is not giving up on taking over the Institute of Immunology because there is still interest in it and that she consults with Mayor Milan Bandić on all matters, Croatian media report, as relayed by the BiH news agency Patria.

"I am the authorized deputy mayor because he transferred his powers to me. The law is clear here - the authorized deputy is obliged to consult with the mayor who gave him the authorization," Švaljek answered the journalists' question about whether she visited Bandić in Remetinec prison and whether she consults with him on the City's operations.

For the first time, instead of Mayor Milan Bandić, she led the press conference at the City Administration, which is usual before a session of the Zagreb City Assembly, and stated that she expects a calm session tomorrow, reiterating that the City of Zagreb "functions as it should".
