Mike Pompeo cancels planned visit to Brussels

(Patria) - US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has cancelled his planned visit to Brussels for tomorrow, the State Department announced.

The statement states that all travel by American officials has been cancelled due to engagement in the transition of power to the new administration of President-elect Joe Biden.

The State Department emphasizes that a plan for the new administration is expected soon, after which it will be known which officials will remain in their positions as acting officials, until the US Senate completes the confirmation process for the appointment of officials.

"As a result, we are cancelling all travel planned for this week, including the Secretary of State's visit to Europe," the State Department announced.
