Mijatović, Magazinović and Husagić held meetings with European parliamentarians in Brussels

(Patria) - Vice-president of SDP BiH Vojin Mijatović and president of the SDP BiH Club in the House of Representatives of the PS BiH Saša Magazinović are staying in Brussels where they are holding meetings with representatives in the European Parliament.  

As Mijatović announced on Facebook, Ahmed Husagić, president of the Movement of Homeland Strength, joined him, and they held their first meeting with SPO MEPs Bettina Vollath and Andreas Schieder.

“We discussed the situation in BiH and the constitutional crisis we are in, and informed them about the positions of SDP BiH. I thanked them for their support in the European Parliament so far and asked for an even stronger engagement of European social democrats. I asked for help with fair and correct elections in BiH next year and received a promise that they will help us secure equipment for scanning ballots and video surveillance. We are continuing our meetings today with parliamentarians, BiH is an indivisible, unified country where European values will prevail, not the 'legitimate' representatives of tribes,” Mijatović wrote.

They held a second meeting together with Magazinović and Dietmar Köster, a member of the German SPD in the European Parliament and shadow rapporteur for BiH.

“This man has already done a lot for BiH in the European Parliament, but we asked him for even stronger support. The EU must speak with one voice, today BiH is a theater of problems, but if the EU does not react, the same problem can quickly happen to the EU. Mr. Köster informed us that it is clear to everyone in the European Parliament that Milorad Dodik is the biggest problem in BiH. Fair and correct elections are the key to 2022, after which the will of the citizens of BiH, not ethno-national tribal leaders, will finally be in force,” Mijatović wrote.
