The Municipal Court in Sarajevo today found Mevlida Mujić guilty of infanticide, the Prosecutor's Office of the Sarajevo Canton announced, as reported by the Patria news agency.
In the first instance, she was sentenced to two years and six months in prison. The Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina prescribes a prison sentence for this criminal offense ranging from one to five years.
Mevlida Mujić from Srebrenica, in the summer of 2014 (when she was 21 years old), drowned her baby and then threw it into a container at Wilson's Promenade.
