(Patria) - Today's Instagram post by gastro guide Taste Atlas was dedicated to Eid al-Adha. Among the dishes presented by Taste Atlas are traditional dishes from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
More than 1.9 billion Muslims worldwide are celebrating Eid al-Adha, one of the most important holidays in Islam. The holiday marks the end of Hajj and is focused on prayer, family gatherings, charitable acts, and shared meals.
In many countries, the morning begins with communal prayers, followed by visits to relatives and long festive lunches prepared for entire families.
Dishes made from lamb, goat, beef, rice, soups, breads, pastries, and desserts take center stage, while homes remain open all day for guests, neighbors, and friends.
In many cultures, food is also prepared and shared with those in need as part of the celebration – they wrote with the post.
Among the dishes Taste Atlas shared from Bosnia and Herzegovina are lamb, bosanski lonac, burek, baklava, tufahije, begova čorba, kadaif, and ćevapi.
