Mešalić on CHF loan conversion to KM: We stopped millions of euros from being taken out of BiH

Although the FBiH Government gave a negative opinion, delegates of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament rejected such a subservient-vassal relationship towards a foreign bank and lobbies and adopted the Draft Law on the conversion of CHF loans to KM, says Mahir Mešalić (DF) for the Patria agency.

- Foreign banks are taking millions of euros out of Bosnia and Herzegovina in armored vehicles based on such or similar usurious loans and interest rates. That practice must stop. I am glad that the parliamentarians, under public pressure, rejected the opinion of the FBiH Government, showing the FBiH Government that conscience is not extinguished in this country - says Mešalić.

He adds that this example showed that the public, the pressure of citizens and the media can force politicians to vote in the interest of the citizens.

- We must do this faster and more efficiently, so that we are all exclusively at the service of the people who give us the mandate to represent them through voting - states Mešalić.
