(Patria) - German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said yesterday that patience will be needed to achieve peace in Ukraine and emphasized that it will be a rather difficult task.
- No one today should say that we are only talking about arms deliveries - Merz said at the congress of the Christian Democratic Union in Lower Saxony.
He stated that a potential peace in Ukraine requires patience and added that everyone must understand how difficult this task will be in the coming weeks or even months.
- We have taken the first steps, but let me give you an analogy - we are on a 10-kilometer stretch and have probably covered only the first 200 meters - Merz said.
