SARAJEVO, (Patria) - "Merhamet" Sweden donated 82,000 KM to "Merhamet's" soup kitchens in Bosnia and Herzegovina at the end of 2022. According to the president of "Merhamet" Sweden, Fehim Halilović, this donation was intended to help "Merhamet's" soup kitchens in BiH to more easily overcome the current socio-economic situation, amidst daily price increases and rising food costs, and to ensure higher quality meals for "Merhamet's" beneficiaries.
Support for soup kitchens in BiH is one of the regular activities of "Merhamet" Sweden. Halilović emphasizes that in 2022, "Merhamet" Sweden sent aid to BiH worth over one million KM.
The president of HO "Merhamet" MDD, Kenan Vrbanjac, thanked "Merhamet" Sweden for the valuable donation to the soup kitchens, which, as he pointed out, is welcome in times of crisis.
- "Merhamet" Sweden, together with Bosnians and Herzegovinians in that country, helps our activities in BiH throughout the year, which adds extra quality to our care for socially vulnerable categories in our country - stated Vrbanjac.
Otherwise, "Merhamet" Sweden celebrated the 30th anniversary of its work and activities on November 29th with a special event in Gothenburg. As stated, during its three decades of work and activities, "Merhamet" Sweden has delivered aid to Bosnia and Herzegovina worth more than 25 million KM.
