Memić: I Doubt the Objectivity of the Disciplinary Prosecutor in the Case of My Son Dženan's Murder

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The father of the murdered young man Dženan Memić, Muriz Memić, today sent a letter to the President of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council, Milan Tegeltija, and all members of the HJPC, requesting that his allegations regarding the objectivity of the work of the HJPC's disciplinary prosecutor in the case of his son's murder be checked.

- We have information indicating closeness and a long-standing friendship between the Chief Prosecutor of the Sarajevo Canton, Dalida Burzić, and the Chief Disciplinary Prosecutor, Alena Kurspahić – about which I am attaching a photograph – stated Memić.

(The photograph was published on social media. The Patria agency published the photograph in which it protected the identity of four individuals who are not mentioned in Memić's letter. The original photograph was submitted to the HJPC.)

In the letter, Memić further states that as a family they request from the HJPC to "carry out monitoring of the work in the case of Dženan Memić and to check my allegations and those of my lawyer Ifet Feraget in an objective and impartial manner."

- Given your previous practice and acting in a professional and lawful manner, we expect you to do the same in this case and inform us in writing about it. The entire country knows that my son was murdered and that Dalida Burzić is at the head of the organized crime group, which prevents proving and provides assistance to the perpetrators of the murder, and for that criminal offense the penalty is 45 years. As you have seen, I am a civilized man and a legalist, but all my knowledge shows that those responsible do not want to prosecute Dalida Burzić, other prosecutors, as well as members of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior – states Memić.

He concludes his letter with a request to take the necessary measures so that the system punishes all those responsible for the murder of his son and those who protect the perpetrators.

- Consider this letter as proof that my patience is running out. I will send the letter to all embassies and the EU – concludes Memić.
