Memić: I expect Dalida Burzić to be arrested soon

(Patria) - The trial in the case of Zijad Mutap and others, related to the death of Dženan Memić, continued at the Court of BiH. After the hearing, Muriz Memić, the father of the murdered young man, addressed the media.

"I was glad that we were at the Court of BiH today, and Dalida Burzić was not there. She has been suspended, and that is a great success and progress. I expect her to be arrested soon," said Memić.

Today, Sanela Hasanbegović, an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton who was involved in the investigation when Dženan Memić died in February 2016, testified. Memić did not hide his disappointment with her testimony today.

"Sanela Hasanbegović is from the Homicide Department, which lied. But investigations are being opened against the heads of these departments. Sanela was very dishonest and concealed a lot. Without any new evidence, they made a new report on the traffic accident. This will be written about how a new qualification of the crime is being made," said Memić.

He added that he was surprised that the prosecutors did not ask about the official note she made, which states that Alisa Mutap twice said she recognized one of the attackers.

Memić said that the fight for the truth has been going on for more than 6.5 years, and that they have managed to expose the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton and the Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton.

This case before the Court of BiH could soon be concluded, and the Prosecutor's Office of BiH has officially launched an investigation into the murder of Dženan Memić. The investigation includes former chief prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton Dalida Burzić, former police commissioner Vahid Ćosić, and several other high-ranking police officers, and former prosecutor in the Memić case Meris Ćato.
