Memić and Dragičević receive full support from OHR, BiH Prosecutor's Office to conclude murder investigations

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Davor Dragičević and Muriz Memić, fathers of the murdered young men David and Dženan, along with lawyer Ifet Feraget, addressed the media after a meeting at the OHR. The OHR stated that they would not comment.

Memić said it was a working meeting and that they soon expect to be received by High Representative Christian Schmidt.

"I am calling on the Chief State Prosecutor Milanko Kajganić to receive me and my lawyer, so I don't have to write to him in writing. Perhaps there will be no further protests; we received full support from the OHR. It is time to resolve this," said Memić.

Dragičević returned to BiH after nearly three years of asylum in Austria, and as he points out, the OHR is well informed about these cases.

"We were specific, and so were they, which surprised me in a way. I soon expect the Prosecutor's Office to take concrete steps, and perhaps I would disagree with Muriz on one point: there will be a justice rally. The last magnificent one, and I hope all citizens will participate," said Dragičević.

Lawyer Feraget said that while some deal with wars, those who talk about it might not even be in that position if the Memić and Dragičević cases had been resolved.

"At the OHR, they are fascinated by the support the public provides, and they see it as a struggle for the state of BiH. It was a very useful working meeting attended by the head of Mr. Schmidt's cabinet and the lady who heads the Legal Department, who has been here for a long time and shares frustrations about the state of our judiciary," said Feraget.

He said we are talking about organized crime within the judicial structures, and some members of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC) also play a role in this.

"It is expected that these investigations be concluded, not left open. The BiH Prosecutor's Office must be ready to expand its capacities regarding investigations into these two cases so that the public learns the truth, and that truth is that prosecutors tried to cover up two obvious murders, and those people must be prosecuted as soon as possible and must bear the consequences for everything that happened, including Dalida Burzić, who unfortunately is a judge of the Court of BiH, Želimir Lepir, who was the chief prosecutor of the RS Prosecutor's Office, Dalibor Vreća, Sead Kreštalica, Zdravko Knežević, Tihomir Jurka. This is not just about the right to life, which no one has the right to gamble with; the line of inhuman treatment has long been crossed. These people are treated inhumanely, left to themselves, and let it be clear to you all that if we did not invest effort and energy, the Prosecutor's Office would most gladly drop these two cases. High-ranking officials are very much involved in covering up both cases," concluded Feraget.
