Mektić: The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has failed

Minister of Security of BiH Dragan Mektić held a press conference today where he spoke about the state of the judiciary and the work of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.

"When you start ignoring me, I will understand that I am boring and talking nonsense and that what I am doing is worthless. I decided on this conference late last night, as shocking things were learned yesterday afternoon. You cannot believe that such things happen in a normal society and judicial system," said Mektić.

He stated at the beginning that the key diagnosis of the catastrophic situation in BiH is the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, which is on the verge of collapse, writes N1.

"That is the real diagnosis and it needs to be treated. If something does not change, we are closest to a legal downfall and legal collapse. I appeal to all segments of authority in the country, this is all that I am doing is coming to an end. The rule of law needs to be seriously addressed. The legal system in BiH is collapsing and has in some way already collapsed. BiH is a ruined country because the rule of law does not exist. I have no personal interest, I care about justice in this country, even if I were a victim of this rule of law," said Mektić.

Mektić said that it is impossible to get out of any crisis if there is no judiciary as a guarantee that everyone who does not allow the rule of law to be established in this country will be sanctioned.

"The Prosecutor's Office of BiH has failed. There was something of a Prosecutor's Office for a while, then it collapsed and collapsed, then attempts were made to do something, appeals were made to the HJPC, and the HJPC promised to air out the judiciary. I told them that airing out would achieve nothing, that everything in the Prosecutor's Office of BiH needs to be changed," said Mektić.

The Minister of Security of BiH emphasized that the 'Prosecutor's Office of BiH has become a place where combinations are made in the worst possible way for false reporting and false prosecution of some people.'

"Never mind that they are doing nothing, there are absolutely no cases and investigations. Now I hear that a judge who works on confirming indictments has fulfilled 30 percent of his quota, because there are no indictments, meaning there is nothing for him to do. In the Prosecutor's Office, criminal offenses are constructed in a false way, and those who call out and accuse the Prosecutor's Office for inaction and corruption in the Prosecutor's Office," added Mektić.

Mektić said that judicial institutions are now exploiting 'a young man who has a certain type of problem'.

"He is in the Prosecutor's Office for hours, where he sits and talks with the Chief Prosecutor, and where they are constructing, making a hellish false plan to bring down people who speak about the inaction of the Prosecutor's Office. With the prosecutor's wind at his back, he has lost all measure and is rushing.
He found an act from SIPA and falsified it, so obviously that it can be seen with the naked eye. There is no act number, no date on the act, so he addressed it to the name Dragan Mektić without the name of the institution."

Mektić said that the document is considered 'top secret'.

"The designation top secret can be put if World War III is starting, and imagine that it is on this document. Six pages of an invented transcript of the conversation between Gordana Tadić and Ružica Jukić and a diagram of the movements of the Chief Prosecutor, and based on this, a criminal complaint was filed against Mektić and Perica Stanić. I am not mentioned as having eavesdropped, but perhaps he thought that Perica forwarded those transcripts to me. That young man is irrelevant, what is important is that individuals who speak about the inaction of the Prosecutor's Office are being prosecuted."

Mektić reiterated that the 'Prosecutor's Office of BiH is dealing with morbid things'.

"They are inventing conversation transcripts and falsifying documents. In the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, they are giving that young man false promises and false hope, and now he has committed a serious criminal offense. The Prosecutor's Office will wash its hands of him, and he will have to answer for the falsified document, for the false transcripts, and the false diagram. Đuro Knežević, Deputy Director of SIPA, claims that he never signed such a document," explained Mektić.

"This is an attempt to undermine SIPA, but they will not succeed. An attempt was made to do the same with attacks on OSA," said Mektić and appealed to all officials in BiH:

"Crime pays here, because no one bears any consequences. There is no fight against corruption, there is no fight against organized crime."
