Mektić meets with British Lords, strengthening fight against corruption and terrorism

LONDON, (Patria) - Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dragan Mektić, following meetings with top officials of the British government and security agencies, also held a series of meetings with members of the British House of Lords.

Among others, Mektić spoke with Lord Howell, Lord Balfe, and Baroness Arminka Helić.

During these meetings, topics and issues from the security sector were discussed, which were also noted in the Lords Committee's report following their visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina last year. The challenges and the need to strengthen the fight against corruption in BiH, as well as strengthening the joint fight against terrorism, were particularly emphasized.

Also, topics important for the preparation of the Western Balkans Summit, which will be held in July in London and where long-term security and political commitment to the region regarding EU accession is planned to be mapped, were discussed.

Minister Mektić is concluding his multi-day, very successful visit to Great Britain today, the aim of which was to improve bilateral relations in the security sector between the two countries.
