Minister of Security of BiH Dragan Mektić stated that the warning issued by British authorities in early May 2017, and supplemented today, does not refer to a warning about a possible terrorist attack, nor is it an invitation for citizens of that country not to travel to BiH, reports Patria agency.
On the website of the Government of Great Britain, travel advice is provided for numerous countries around the world, including BiH and other countries in the region. One of the pieces of information about BiH mentions the possibility of a terrorist attack, but in an undefined sense, stating that attacks can be random and that a target could be a place frequented by foreigners.
- Great Britain has classified the danger of terrorism into several ranks, and among others, the USA, Germany, France, and Belgium have a worse assessment than BiH, with a degree of very likely terrorist attacks - Mektić explained, adding that the same assessment applies to Austria and Italy.
Otherwise, on the website https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/bosnia-and-herzegovina, information regarding BiH was supplemented today. A warning was issued about a gathering to be held in Mostar on June 8, namely a concert in support of Hague convicts, as well as announced protests.
On the same page, there are warnings for Serbia, Croatia, and Montenegro in the terrorism section.
