Mektić gave guarantees that BiH manufacturers of police uniforms will be able to participate in public procurement

Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dragan Mektić held a meeting today with representatives of the BH Consortium of Police and Military Equipment Manufacturers and the Chamber of Commerce of FBiH regarding the Rulebook on Police Uniforms adopted by the Council of Ministers of BiH.

According to the BH Consortium, this Rulebook prevents domestic manufacturers of police and military equipment from participating in public procurement procedures carried out by police agencies at the BiH level.

A consensus was reached at today's meeting between the minister and domestic businessmen, according to which domestic manufacturers will still have the opportunity to participate in public procurement.

- We had an open and fair discussion with the Minister of Security of BiH, Dragan Mektić, which was attended by representatives of the BH Consortium of Police and Military Equipment Manufacturers and representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of the Federation of BiH.

We have reached a firm agreement that domestic manufacturers of police and military equipment will also be able to participate in public calls for the procurement of police uniforms, which will be announced by police agencies at the BiH level. We have received clear guarantees from Minister Mektić that this will be the case, and we believe that the Council of Ministers of BiH and the management of police agencies will respect what we have agreed upon and harmonized.

It is in everyone's interest to ensure competition in the public procurement process and for our companies to have the opportunity to participate in public procurement. Uniforms produced in BiH are used by police forces across Europe, and there is no reason why police agencies in BiH should not continue to use these uniforms - stated Mustafa Kundić, representative of the BH Consortium of Police and Military Equipment Manufacturers.
