Mektić: BiH has no tolerance for individuals linked to terrorism

Minister of Security of BiH Dragan Mektić stated at today's press conference that after the arrest and extradition of Mirsad Kandić to the USA, one of the most wanted associates of ISIL.

Mektić warned that this is a person who entered BiH under the name Ivan Popović, and presented himself as Edin Radončić in BiH. He revealed that he was located on July 4, after which he was arrested by members of SIPA in the Sarajevo settlement of Grbavica. Kandić had resided in Great Britain, Turkey, Germany...

An international red notice was issued last year.

The Minister of Security said that our country has received a number of commendations from intelligence structures of important and significant countries.

- BiH will have no tolerance for individuals who have any connections to terrorism. I want to send a message to all fake experts that what they write and publish is far from reality. They live in the 80s and 90s and constantly repeat ten names with the aim of creating fear among the population in BiH - Mektić said.

He emphasized that intelligence and security agencies in BiH have the capacity and are committed to countering any terrorist threat.

The BiH Prosecutor's Office did not provide further information due to the sensitivity of the case, and the investigation is still ongoing as Kandić's contacts in BiH and the persons he communicated with are being verified.
