Former presidential candidate and senator John McCain, speaking to students in Arizona regarding the current crisis in Ukraine, stated that America had to intervene in Bosnia and Herzegovina, reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP). McCain addressed the Clinton Foundation gathering, praising the role of former president Bill Clinton and supporting the US reaction towards Russia.
He is one of those against whom Vladimir Putin's government imposed sanctions in response to Western sanctions against Russian officials.
- Bosnia and Herzegovina may not be a perfect place today. But it is a country that has a chance for economic and political development like other countries and for everything we want for an independent state - said McCain. At the same time, he said that America must remain firm in defending people's freedom and the rights of Ukrainians, and that only in this way will it stop Putin's intention to re-establish the Russian empire, reports NAP.
