Mehmedović: Police and prosecutor's offices are being used for internal Bosniak disputes!

Political centers are using police and prosecutor's offices in BiH for political disputes aimed at discrediting individuals, says Šemsudin Mehmedović, a state representative, in an interview with the BiH news agency Patria (NAP), after the Prosecutor's Office of Zenica-Doboj Canton dismissed the charges against him, related to the discovery of weapons in Kaloševići.

According to him, this is not the only case where the judicial bodies and the police are used to shape the political scene. He points out that he is living proof of such abuses.

- Of course, all of this has caused and is causing me damage. People are just served the information that charges have been filed against someone, and then it is completely irrelevant to those political centers what the outcome is. The goal of everything is just media discreditation. It doesn't matter if someone is guilty or if it turns out they are not, it's like collecting loose feathers – says Mehmedović.

As he points out, the director of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), Goran Zubac, is the "most suitable" person for such jobs, but not the only one, which is why Mehmedović believes that the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council and the police system need to be reformed.

- Zubac is today the strongest political lever of Milorad Dodik and his team. But, this same mechanism of framing is also used in internal Bosniak disputes. It is obvious that police agency heads and the agencies themselves are used in this way, for political manipulation – points out Mehmedović.

He points out that, on the other hand, there is a final indictment against Zubac, but the Independent Board does not have the courage to even suspend him.

- Any other police officer would have been suspended even for a disciplinary investigation. If we are not all equal before the law, what is the meaning of the state – he adds.
